Should We Hire Him?

My Alma mater, Heinz College @ Carnegie Mellon University- before it used to be called the Heinz school, and recently received the title of College- anyway, they have been looking for a new dean for quite some time now. Yesterday, I received an update of the hiring process from the selecction committee regarding the application of Mr. John Leslie King's candidacy.

Mr. King has been teaching at University of Michigan for a long time, and has climbed the ladder there, academically and administratively. Now he aspires to the be dean of one of the finest public policy schools in the country and dear to me. His resume is pretty extensive and impressive, however, to me, he fits the same old mold of former deans at my Alma mater. The selection committee at the Heinz College, comprised of faculty, staff, students, and community members, in the end will have the final decision on the selection of the new dean. Hopefully, they select somebody that reflects the new changes taking place in America....

Given the nature of the school, I thought I share the news with you to obtain feedback from your perspective on this issue. Below is Mr. King's resume, and if after reviewing his resume, you'd like to leave your two cents on whether Heinz College should hire him or not, you are more than welcome to do so.
