Tell Me Your Beef- The federal Budget

Well, let me tell you my Carne for this week and for several weeks to come—

No, it's not AIG, I know you all tired hearing plenty about ludicrous bonuses paid out to greedy AIG execs with our money, however, that was just a mere distraction to the real challenges ahead for President Obama. It is that time of the year for the federal government to put their money where their mouth is, we all know that without the right resources in place ($) this administration can't succeed in their governing plan for change in America. It's just like running a business -- in this case it is the country's business.

The real focus of what Change (For many of us) represents, as we hoped for, by casting our votes back in November for Obama; it is now at stake . If the right resources are not in place to support it, then our hopes and dreams from this past election would just be mere words in the air with no real meaning. The dreams and aspirations of millions of Americans are on the line right now, they can only come true if the real financial support is there to bring meaningful reform on education, energy, labor, climate change, and other important topics impacting the hard-working middle class.

I do believe that the Administration's first budget aims to carry out the beginning of their promises of change, however, they won't be easy to come, and will face many obstacles along the way. Resistance will come from special interests represented inside and outside of the Halls of Congress. This is the time, for real people, to let this administration know we care, we are watching, and we support real Change in America. Stand up for change! Stand up so your vote back in November really counts for Change! Contact your local elected representative and tell them you support the President’s budget. Tell them that your values are represented through the President’s principles reflected on this budget. Only this way, we can actually help carry out the promise of change in America; a better future and a more perfect union. It's time to support a President working for you.

Here are some points of reference to help you understand and dissect this year's budget if interested:

Well, that was my Beef for this week and several weeks ahead. Send me your reaction to this Carne @ latinosforobama@latinosforobamaonline.com, and tell me what’s your Beef for this week?

Ahí me cuentas y por Ahi nos vemos.

Gabriel
